The YC Expo is Y Combinator's showcase event, where startups from recent batches set up booths to demo what they're building and talk to anyone who stops by — investors, engineers, and the just-curious alike.
I walked the floor for most of the day and ended up talking with a lot of companies, way more than I expected to get real conversations with. People were generous with their time even for someone still in high school, which I didn't take for granted.
The conversation that stuck with me most was with the team at emergent.dev. We talked through how they think about their product and the problems they're solving, and it was a useful window into how a small team makes decisions when they're moving fast.
Overall it was a great look at what YC is currently backing and how early-stage teams talk about their own work when they only have a couple minutes to make the case. Photos from the day to come.
